How do I care for my dentures?
Your removable prosthetic can be cleaned with a denture cleaner or with a regular toothbrush and toothpaste. Make sure to handle your dentures carefully and don’t expose them to hot water. Be sure to brush your gums and tongue daily.
An implant-retained denture can be brushed and flossed like your natural teeth.
You should see Dr. Wulff for regular maintenance and readjustment every six months.

What should I do if my removable denture breaks?
You should bring your broken denture to Distinctive Dental Care as soon as possible for repair before wearing it. We can expedite the restoration of your denture at our lab, so you won’t have to go long without it.

If I have false teeth, does that mean I don't need to see the dentist anymore?
No, you should still see your dentist regularly. A removable denture will need to be realigned or adjusted by your dentist as your jaw bone changes over time.
Your oral health is about more than just teeth. During your dental exams, we will check for signs of periodontal disease and oral cancer to keep your whole body health optimal.

How many dental implants will I need for an implant-supported denture?
Your Prescott dentist will consider your individual needs carefully when recommending any restorative treatment. You may only need two dental implants to secure a lower denture and at least four for an upper denture.

How are false teeth made?
After all the procedures are completed to prepare your mouth for dentures, your dentist will take impressions of your mouth. A dental laboratory will use the impressions to create a custom-made set of upper and lower arches. Your dentist will make sure the fit and bite are correct, which may take multiple visits as each change needs to be processed by the lab.
